So I tried really hard to hold Carter off on the cereal until six months....but I was just dying to start feeding him, so I gave in a couple weeks early. We have only tried plain rice cereal before bed, and he LOVES it! He opens his mouth when I put the spoon towards his mouth...I love it! I also read a book on baby sign language this week and am starting to sign to Carter. The book says it takes a child a couple months to pick up, but by 8 months they should be able to sign back to you. For the next month I am signing "eat" to him everytime he eats cereal or drinks a bottle. In the months following we will be working on milk and more. My newphew Mason signs more and eat and hes 1 1/2. I think it is amazing that thier little minds understand soooo much!
Oh it is exciting when they get "real" food! We are still signing with Kailer, but I have to admit that I'm not as "vigilant" about it as I was in the beginning. Needless to say, I hope it works for you, as I know it helps to reduce frustrations. Great new pics.
